December rose 2

Taken on the same day as the previous post, this rose was growing about 2 feet away.  I’m not sure I understand the evident difference in the two roses’ response to the onset of winter.

I like the contrast between the bright yellow centre of the flower and the raggedness of the outer leaves.  And yellow is my favourite colour for a rose.

Decisions…..

 

When I edit my photographs, I usually know pretty quickly when I have the result I like – it is as close as I get to the picture I have in my mind.  This time I’m not sure which of these two versions I prefer, so I have gone with posting both.

The second image here is the first effort, processed using Lightroom CC.  The second has a bit of further processing using Nik  Viveza 2.

Thinking of using one of these as a Christmas card….
