About
This blog is really about my attempt to learn to take better photographs – mainly by trial and error. I enjoy outdoor photography: landscape, nature, buildings. And when I can, I like to look for unusual perspectives and angles. Constructive criticism is welcome – my main aim is to improve my photography.
I use a Fuji Finepix S – because I can’t afford a DSLR camera. Sometimes I use Photoshop if I think it improves the image (some photos are cropped, and occasionally I sharpen the image).
I love your photos! They’re simple, but very pretty! Keep up the good work! (also, added your blog to my website!)
Thank you for visiting and for the kind comments. I appreciate it.
I on’t know if you saw my reply to your kind comment over at my blog but I really enjoyed looking at your images. You have great eye for interesting textures and patterns. Great work, I shall be back!
Thank you – I’ll keep taking photos, keep blogging, and – hopefully – improving.
Hi. I use an old Minolta x 700. Did a post a while back about a camera shop woman telling me that in order to get the same image quality in a digital camera I’d need a Nikkon that would cost over three thousand dollars. I figure that buys a LOT of film while I’m exploring.
Nice to meet you. Thanks for commenting so I could track back to your art.
Thank you for your very encouraging comments, here and on some of the images. It means a lot to me to get feedback from other photographers, especially from those whose work I have enjoyed looking at. Thanks again.
I really like the Ripples, its very etherial.
Ron
Thank you Ron. That was the effect I was looking for – although I’m not convinced I got the finished shot exactly as I wanted it.
Hi Graham,

Thank you – I appreciate it. I’m stillfairly new to photography – trying tolearn and improve as I go, and trying to post a photo most days is a good discipline and a good motivation.
Hi, you have some interesting photos here…
Keith
Thanks Keith.
I appreciate your compliment today on the photo I posted. I’m a “trial and error” kind of photographer myself. 🙂 (Got lucky with the flower pic.) You do have some great, and very interesting photos here on your blog. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Graham, some really nice abstract pictures – you have a good eye – I’ll be coming back to your page – keep it up
Thank you! I really appreciate it. One of the motivations for this blog is to improve my photography, through the discipline of blogging regularly and through constructive criticism from more experienced photographer. PLease fel free to offer critique and suggestions. Thanks again.
I am totally ignorant on the technicalites of photography so can’t comment on that aspect, but I do think the first essential aspect of photography is to be able to see in an interestng way & that’s what I see you doing here.
Thank you – that’s the essence I think, regardless of the technology. (I would still like a better camera though…)
Thank you for your kind comments on my blog!, You have a keen eye for interesting textures!, Rust and paint makes great art! I’ll be back!

Thank you very much – that’s very kind.
Good work. I’m from Wiltshire tho’ work in Bangkok. Painter /Photographer. I have photographed your subject and glad to see it’s still the powerfully abstract bucolic dreamscape for beauty, as the last time an year or 2 that I was back for hols., but it’s
culturally Hotel California, as you know. . Bangkok’s not much better, but powerfully abstract also.! Best from Martin Collins of Salisbury..Idmiston ..I don’t think you need to explain the abstract ones…spoil the mystery and exploration to ‘get it’ like last scene in a movie..to be revealed at the end
Thank you Martin. I see your point about adding text to the shots – until quite recently I tended to let the shots speak for themselves, and I’m undecided on this point.
some terrific photos on this blog of yours Graham which I discovered through my blogging buddy Adrian of Fatman Photos fame.. I am doing much the same as you with my Photomania blog.. learning about my (no longer) new D5100 camera by trial and error .. great fun but hard work as I vowed to post every day for a year.. 7 months in and no misses yet.. going to enjoy following you 😉
I love your work!
